Town of Huntsville Huntsville is the largest community in the District of Muskoka with a permanent population of about 18,000. The historic Town Centre is surrounded by large rural areas of forest, lakes and wetlands. With Arrowhead Provincial Park and world-famous Algonquin Provincial Park close by, Huntsville is well known as a nature, recreation and resort destination.

Huntsville has the largest hospital in the area and the town is home to a wide range of health care professionals and specialists. The town has several malls, many restaurants, big stores such as Walmart, Home Depot, Independent, Metro, Canadian Tire, a huge Liquor & Wine store and hundreds of smaller shops covering the full spectrum of shopping needs. Fractional cottage owners will feel right at home.

The Algonquin Theatre, in downtown Huntsville, opened its doors on May 14, 2005. As part of the Huntsville Civic Centre, the 408-seat theatre aims to serve the arts, cultural and educational needs of residents and visitors.

Muskoka Heritage Place is a local attraction that features a genuine pioneer village, a working 1902 Steam Train (The Portage Flyer), a First Nation's exhibit, 2 museums, authentic demonstrations, farm animals and gardens, nature walk and trails.

You'll be pleased with the proximity of the resort to the town. The resort is far enough away to maintain its serene, natural wilderness setting and close enough to get there in less than 20 minutes drive.

The village of Dwight is only about 5 minutes drive from the resort. Here you will find a liquor store, building & hardware store, grocery store and a variety of antique shops and some restaurants.
